Course Overview
Crisis Management training includes all the activities and initiatives necessary to combat a crisis. These activities are focused on saving the lives of people, minimizing damage to the property and effective planning of the response. For effective response planning, contingency plans are devised and response training is given. The course is designed to prepare the participants to effectively handle situations before, during and after the crisis.
For instance, if there is fire in a plant, it releases toxic clouds, and that area becomes polluted, therefore evacuation needs to take place. At this moment, police will be active and will control traffic management while the municipal administrators will also be responsible. However, the organization owning the plant is the main party responsible for the incident. Therefore, emergency management involves coordination among multiple agencies, and public and private actors should make sure that they are both trained for emergency planning.
